ACNE- a skin disorder that develops when the sebaceous glands get inflamed or infected and cause red pimples to develop on the skin.
Baking Soda- helps exfoliate the skin, unblocks pores and gets rid of dead skin.
Cinnamon- antioxidant that helps repair damage caused by acne.
Manuka Honey- helps reduce buildup of bacteria in your pores and helps prevent inflammation.
Lemon Juice- helps treat acne by drying out and disinfecting your skin.
Combine 5 tablespoons Manuka Honey, 2 tablespoons baking soda, 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a bowl and mix well.
Apply to acne for 5 minutes and wash with warm water.
Use daily until acne subsides.
Apple Cider Vinegar- The proper way to apply apple cider is to first cleanse your face. Next take a diluted solution of apple cider vinegar and apply to the face using cotton balls or a folded piece of gauze. Never apply the vinegar without diluting it first. The best ratio is 1 tablespoon of vinegar, mixed with three tablespoons of water. The final step is to wait approximately 30 seconds to wash the face with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel. Always pat the face dry as rubbing it dry with a towel can irritate the acne.
Honey- To use this natural method, mix two tablespoons of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon. This mixture has a pleasant odour and the next step is cleanse the face and to lather gently the mixture onto the affected areas. Sit back and relax for 20 minutes while the mixture is absorbed by the skin. Afterwards, gently rinse the face with cool water and again…gently pat the face dry.
Green Tea- To use green tea, make one cup and let it sit to cool. Take a clean cotton ball and moisten it with the green tea, before patting each acne point on the face. This is targeting the individual spots but you can also put the green tea in a small spray bottle and apply it overall if you wish. It would be best to lean over the sink and close your eyes before using the spritzer as it will coat your face and run slightly. Just use a clean washcloth to pat up the extra green tea.
Skin support- acne
1-oz burdock Arctium lappa root
1-oz yellow dock Rumex crispus root
1-oz yarrow Achillea millefolium flowers
1-oz marshmallow Althaea officinalis root
Water
Blend the herbs and store in a glass jar. As needed, use ½-oz of your herbal blend and ½-pt of water to prepare a standard decoction, but simmer until it reduces by approximately one third. Take 1-T three times a day between meals. Store for no more than 72 hours in the refrigerator. You can also apply this preparation topically.
To cleanse the liver and kidneys:
15 drops of onion juice daily will benefit the liver.
Use a liver flush. To prepare use 1-T olive oil and add the juice of half a lemon. Take first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do not eat for half an hour. Repeat for three days, have a rest for five days, then repeat again.
Note: The lemon and olive oil flush is a process that you need to prepare for. Complete the flush alone; it is a one-time flush. Conversely, the onion juice flush can be used daily. You would, however, stop your daily onion juice flush when completing the lemon and olive oil flush.

Vitex agnus-castus modulates hormones, which may be beneficial for acne, like saw palmetto. Vitex would be better for women, since its common name chaste tree comes from monks taking it to reduce their sex drive! Saw palmetto blocks some activation of testosterone - which is the main hormone for acne
Ensure that the diet contains adequate vitamins and minerals and take a general multivitamin and mineral supplement if needed.
Spirulina, a nutrient-rich dietary supplement, has been reported to clean up longstanding cases of acne when up to 20 tablets a day are taken over two to six months.
Vitamin A: Women of childbearing age should not take more than 5,000 IU of preformed vitamin A (retinol) per day unless they are using effective birth control because of the risk of fetal injury. The water-soluble form of vitamin A, beta-carotene, is safer and is the preferred option.
50,000-150,000 units of beta-carotene daily for one month.
A licensed health care provider must supervise doses of vitamin A over 50,000 units; beta-carotene is considered a safer source. Vitamin A is accumulative and can cause side effects in high doses. Symptoms of vitamin A poisoning develop quickly and consist of nausea, vomiting, skin peeling, intense headaches, vertigo, irritability, drowsiness, and seizures. Eventually, coma and liver damage may result. Symptoms disappear when the supplement is stopped.
Vitamin E: 200-400 IU - using a natural E.
Zinc: 40-300-mg[3]
Niacin: 150-mg: 50 mg three times daily with meals. This causes facial flushing, bringing a fresh supply of blood to the face. However, this flush reaction can be uncomfortable. High doses of niacin (1-3-gm daily) have been associated with elevated liver enzymes.
B Complex: Use a formula that has at least 50 mg of each of B1, B2, and B3.
Vitamin C: use a natural source such as acerola or rose hips 1 - 5000 mg daily
Calcium/phosphorus: Bonemeal - 2 tablets (particularly in adolescence) or a chelated calcium phosphorus supplement
Silica: Silicon is an element found in many plants. It is found in plants as its oxide SiO2, silica. The silica is absorbed by the plant from the soil where it occurs as a mineral. It is usually in the cell walls of leaves and stems not in the roots[4]. In some plants (such as horsetail Equisetum arvense), silica accumulates in the epidermis, which covers and protects the plant. This is why it feels rough when you brush against it.
A silica-rich diet is the best way to take silica. Humans cannot absorb silica as it is found in the earth. In your diet, plant sources such as cucumbers and dandelion leaf will provide a silica-rich salad. Note, however, plants will only contain silica if the soil they are grown in also contains it.
Oatstraw Avena sativa is another great choice for a herb rich in silica. When simmered in water and blended with an organic apple juice it makes a refreshing drink over ice cubes. Simmering the plant in water releases silica. If oatstraw tea is used regularly over a few months it is supportive for the skin, nails, and hair.
Other forms of silica that are effective for skin support that can be taken internally are the cell salt Silica and the homeopathic remedy Silica 30c.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), a form of sulfur, the skin mineral, is very helpful for acne
Kelp granules: 2-t a day
Wheat germ, cold-pressed soybean, or sesame oil: 4-t to 5-t
Lecithin: 3 caps, three times a day (Lecithin helps the utilization of fatty substances)
Spirulina has been reported to clear long-standing cases of acne when used over two to six months.
Keep the area clean and expose to sunlight and fresh air. Always wear an oil-free sunscreen. Ensure that you use a hypoallergenic sunscreen. Studies have shown that while exposure to sunlight will initially help with acne, over time it causes a thickening of the epidermis that increases problems in the long term.
Cleanse the skin gently twice a day, using warm water and a mild cleanser. Do not use soap or harsh commercial acne preparations that can strip the skin, disturb the skin's acid mantle, and cause the skin to produce more sebum.
Make a face mask of lemon juice, milk, and oatmeal. Use enough of each ingredient to form a thick slurry that will stick to the skin. Leave on the face for half an hour, and then rinse off with warm water. This helps to clean up blackheads.
Rubbing freshly cut pineapple on the affected area can assist. The bromelain in pineapple is a natural antiseptic, refiner, and clarifier.
Further, an herbal tincture made from thyme may also be effective with acne. Researchers from Leeds Metropolitan University have found "thyme tincture had a greater antibacterial effect than standard concentrations of benzoyl peroxide—the active ingredient in most anti-acne creams or washes[1]."
In addition, propolis tincture is a natural antibiotic and can be applied topically and taken orally simultaneously.
Try massaging the skin with olive oil and a few drops of lavender[2] Lavandula angustifolia essential oil.
Vitamin E can be applied to reduce scarring.
