1-cup organic wheat
3-cups purified water (wheatgrass Elytrigia repens blades can be added to increase purification)
1 preserving jar
Wash the wheat. Remove any dead seeds (these will float to the surface when the grain is covered in water). Soak the wheat in the three cups of water for 48 hours in a dark, lukewarm place. After 48 hours, pour off the liquid. It should taste tart but not sour. Refrigerate the rejuvelac if you want to keep it for longer than 24 hours. The soaking process can be repeated with the same wheat twice more. Use only two cups of water and soak for 24 hours.
For the next eight days
First thing each morning: Drink one pint of potato peel broth mixed with lacto fermented vegetable juice.
Morning Tea: Fresh fruit or herb tea
Lunch: Small raw salad with sprouts, grated beets, one cup of potato peel broth.
Dinner: Raw salad and steamed vegetables especially greens, with one cup of potato peel broth. Occasionally a potato baked in the oven with the skin or baked apple, with honey. Do not use any butter, sour cream, or salad dressing. A little vinegar and olive oil can be used if you wish.
This is a total fruit and vegetable regime: All alkalizing foods. Abstain from any supplements during this period. After 11 days, you can return to a regular, healthy way of eating.
This cleansing and eliminative regime can be used two to three times every year and especially when feeling out of sorts, or when acute illnesses occur. Again, do not use this program as a means of achieving short-term weight loss, if you are diabetic or hypoglycemic or if you are on medication without consulting your naturopath or doctor.
Remember to mention that holistic protocols often create a 'healing crisis', where the client may feel worse for a few days before the benefits are felt and symptoms subside. Keep in close contact with your client until you are confident you have positive results and improvement is noted.
