This tea is also useful for premenstrual cramps, during menstruation, and for nursing mothers.
1-oz chamomile Matricaria recutita (German) or Chamaemelum nobile (Roman) flowers
1-oz borage Borago officinalis leaves and flowers
1-oz oatstraw Avena sativa
1-pt apple juice
Prepare the oatstraw as a standard decoction, using 1-oz to 1-pt of water. Simmer for at least 20 minutes.
Cool the oatstraw decoction for five minutes and then pour it over the borage and chamomile. Cover and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Strain, cool, and then add the apple juice.
Drink throughout the day. Store in the refrigerator for no more than 24 hours.
This blend can also be frozen into ice cubes and added to other juice or iced tea.
